Second Best

During the first lockdown of 2020, Nadine Rocco and Christophe Demart turned their admiration for zines into a creative project and started planning SECOND BEST. The couple created this self-published, riso printed zine with the help of friends contributing texts and illustrations. Every issue contains articles on nature, pop culture and mythical creatures as well as poetry and short fiction. The whole project is a communal effort and the creators hold it dear to their heart. Apart from designing the zine, Nadine Rocco also dives into the world of illustration, creating small, doodle-like characters as well as bigger abstract ones as you will find on the covers of her zine. Whether she puts her characters in dream like worlds or realistic situations, they always have a certain curviness to them reminiscent of illustrations from the 60s and 70s.
