Huddelafatz

textile design & manufacturing

The Huddelafatz project was born from the meeting of costume designer Caroline Koener and cultural worker Misch Feinen. Both come from working-class families linked to the local steel industry. With this common background and their love for this timeless object that is the “bleu de travail”, they embarked on a search around the heritage of the local textile industry, which has now disappeared. The desire to recreate a contemporary and locally produced "Bloen" pushed them to find raw materials and means of production adapted to their vision: to create an object that pays homage to the artisanal heritage and which at the same time gives it the place it deserves, by relying on local, sustainable and equitable resources. From this challenge came the "Bloman", the first-born of the Huddelafatz workshop in purely European linen fabric and made in Luxembourg.
